Backcountryriding.US was founded 2004 by Christian 'Krusty' Beham and Andreas 'Moe Saint Cool' Matzbacher. We try to bring the great world of snowboarding and mountainbiking into your livingroom, trying to make you forget thinking about your work and problems, motivate you to get up your ass, move out and marvel about the wonderful beauty of the world, that surrounds you.
There was no way for us to live a simple life. We both had exactly the same attitudes and had the same goals for our lifes. The upcoming years we want to travel around the world and feed our Website with Locations & Resortinfos for Snowboarding and Mountainbiking. As also we will map special backcountry rides and Gps-tours for you. Maybe you know Heliboarding is an very expensive vice, escpecially in Canada, so we try to find cheap locations in the Elbrus, Kamchatka area and all around the globe.
The next step will be organizing a big Caravane, so if the things had´nt changed in such a bad way we would have bought a Motorhome and gave up our last relation to the ordinary life without having a fixed residence.
The stupefying dead of my fuckin best friend and Bike-professional, Rider for Saecco, Lampre-Caffita and Volksbank Voralberg Andreas Matzbacher at the age of 25 years on Christmas eve 2007 smashed all our plans we conceived the last years. And i don't talk about the emotional pain i suffer from missing the best friend you could imagine...
So just let us see, how things will grow up and what the time will bear. Its better to live life for the moment! Why? 'Because if you plan ahead you might not make it that far!' With these words, Craig Kelly’s attitude to life is one that appeals to all, but only some of us actually heed these words while the rest of us endure the daily grind that today’s life entails.
These pages are not and won't never ever be commercial. This pages mirroring our way of life. This pages show you only a diminutive part of us. Please apologize the offensive language areas. Have fun reading the stupid stuff. Enjoy the pictures and videos and don't forget, there are much more important things in life than working and your expensive car...
Maybe calling your best friend, telling him that you are pleased to be his buddy. Its too late, if he is dead ...
So on my friend Moe,
these last words are for you...
